This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

As you progress further into Agents of Mayhem’s story, you’re going to unlock different agents that you can use in your party. Unfortunately, based on what we’ve seen so far, these agents all start out at level 1, so you’ll have to level them up if you want to use them in later missions. In this article we’ll go over some of the best ways to level up fast in Agents of Mayhem, which will help you make them more viable in later missions.

How to Level Up Quickly

Because each agent counts as sits own character, you’ll have to level each one up individually. Now, you can purchase some Mayhem-wide upgrades from the Requisitions area on the Ark, but overall, upgrades for your characters will come through the purchase of skills or ability upgrades in the agent’s personal stats. If you want to level up your agents quickly, then be sure to follow these simply tips.

Complete Side Missions

As we have stated several times throughout our Agents of Mayhem guides, there are a plethora of different missions and quests available for players to complete. These quests can be found in the Missions area, as well as on the map—which can be pulled up at any point when you’re down in Seoul. These missions give you a set amount of experience, but you’ll also earn additional experience for killing enemies, collecting intel, and other things within the mission.

Complete Contracts

Contracts are kind of like missions, in that they task you to complete some type of objective. However, Contracts can only be started from the Missions menu, which is accessed via the character menu (where you choose to travel to the Ark, look at your inventory, or check out your party of agents). Click on the Contract option and then you’ll be able to choose from an assortment of different Contracts that you can complete on your own. You can also challenge others to complete the same Contracts, and you’ll be rewarded quite handsomely for your troubles.

Take Out Targets of Opportunity

As you travel around the city, you’ll probably start to notice several armored vehicles along the road. They often have purple reticles above them, and if you shoot upon them, they’ll try to run away from you. These are called Targets of Opportunity, and while they don’t provide the biggest rewards for taking them down, they do provide you with a nice chance to get a Legion Alert—which is similar to Saint Row’s wanted level—that will give you a ton of enemies to fight and earn experience, cash, and even Dark Matter and Intel from.

There are plenty of ways to earn experience for your agents in Agents of Mayhem, and these are just a few of the best ways that we’ve found throughout our time with the game.
