Absolum is out now on PC and consoles and is easily one of the best action titles of the year. Guard Crush Games has managed to spin up a beat ’em up rogue-lite that’s hard to put down with tons of memorable characters.

Several characters are voiced by the same actors, and they’ve done a great job of making each one sound distinct. Many of the actors have appeared in movies and TV shows, and from what I can tell, this is Emily Barber’s first video game role as Galandra. The main cast is a standout, with unique dialogue for each character, character-specific encounters, and plenty of fun narrative moments.

While several languages support in-game text and the interface, full voice acting is limited to English. The developers may add more languages in the future, but for now, all voiced dialogue is only available in English.

Thanks to how diverse the playable cast is, the developers did a great job ensuring every character feels distinct in their performance as well.

Ali Hashmi

Ali has been writing about video games for the past six years and is always on the lookout for the next indie game to obsess over and recommend to everyone in sight. When he isn't spending an unhealthy amount of time in Slay the Spire, he's probably trying out yet another retro-shooter or playing Dark Souls for the 50th time.
