Some Notorious Marks bring an air of mystery with them. That’s certainly the case for the Hunt target, A Hill to Die On, which offers no picture and only the vague description of a “black boulder” found in the Velkroy. But there’s no need to waste your time tracking down this mysterious beast. Here’s how to find A Hill to Die On and all the rewards you’ll get for killing it in Final Fantasy 16.
A Hill to Die On Hunt Location & Rewards in Final Fantasy 16 (FFXVI)
Some strange and mysterious boulder is tormenting the desert merchants in the Velkroy Desert. It’s a Rank-B mark and you’ll encounter it at level 34.
To find A Hill to Die On, select The Velkroy Desert in the World Map.
You might think that this mark would be near the merchants, close to The Watcher. But it’s nowhere close! When you load in, your destination is at the very top of the map, to the northeast. The monster is tucked away in a small clearing, and it will seem like a black boulder at first. But once you get close to it, it will reveal its true form: Fastitocalon, the black turtle.
As you might expect from a monster with a heavy shell, Fastitocalon has high defense and a big health pool. Fortunately, its moves are easy to read and easier to dodge. You should have no problem moving out of the way of its attacks. But if you do get hit, expect those hits to hurt.
