SELECT THE TEAM THAT FITS YOUR PLAY STYLE. DON’T USE LOWER-RATED TEAMS JUST TO BE DIFFERENT.
There are two types of Madden NFL players: those who use their favorite team every game and those who are looking to gain a competitive edge against their opponent through team selection. If you are the latter, then we recommend you use the Seattle Seahawks or San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers have the ability to win games with their defense and run game, while Seattle has a great balance of talent all over the field. You don’t gain style points by using lower-rated teams. If you feel the urge to be different, we recommend using the Green Bay Packers, as they have one of the most dangerous offenses in Madden NFL 25.
4 WHAT OFFENSIVE/DEFENSIVE PLAYBOOK SHOULD I USE?
CHECK OUT THE RUN N GUN OFFENSIVE AND 4-3 DEFENSIVE PLAYBOOKS. THEY HAVE THE MOST VARIETY OF FORMATIONS IN THE GAME.
The Pistol playbook is new to Madden NFL 25 and will be one of the most used playbooks this season. The overhaul to the option game will allow you to take full advantage of this playbook’s strengths. Look to spread defenses out to isolate defenders into space where you can take advantage of Read Option plays in the open field. Don’t forget to utilize screens in this offense. Some of the biggest plays in the game are the result of HB and WR screens.
3 HOW DO I MAKE FAST OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE ADJUSTMENTS?
FAIL 1,000 TIMES SO THAT ON ATTEMPT 1,001 YOU NAIL IT.
Practice and time will help you develop faster adjustments. When we give you adjustments to make to enhance your play-calling, it’s something you should be practicing every time you load up the game. Head into practice mode and use two controllers so you can work on both offensive and defensive setups. In as little as five minutes you can feel confident with setups for one play. Don’t make the mistake of reading the setups and then heading directly into a game.
2 HOW DO I MAKE DEPTH CHART DECISIONS?
KEY IN ON SPECIFIC RATINGS. THIS WILL HELP YOU FORM AN IDENTITY ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL.
Making key depth chart decisions is all about what type of football you want your team to play. First decide if you are going to be a run first, pass first, or balanced offense. Next determine if your defense will be built to stop the run or the pass. Once you make these key decisions you can then fall back on what your team’s identity is. When you are deciding between the 6’5” WR with a 70 Overall rating or the 6’4” TE at 74 Overall, it will be easier to choose based on what style of offense you selected. Pick the 6’5” WR for passing offenses and pick the 6’4” TE for rushing offenses. It’s also important to look for key ratings when making depth chart moves. On offense look for things like Catch in Traffic for WRs and TEs. On defense focus on ratings like Hit Power and Block Shed. If you see someone with a high rating in these categories you should get them on the field.
1 IS OFFENSE OR DEFENSE MOST IMPORTANT?
DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Without a doubt, defense is the most important side of the ball. Everyone can score points, but not everyone can lock up on defense. Spend the first few days of the season working on your offense and then the rest of the season focusing on defense. The best players each year have the best defense. This isn’t a debatable topic. If you want to be an elite player you need to have lockdown defense.
