5 RED ZONE EFFICIENCY

Practice Mode

ON OFFENSE THE RED ZONE IS THE AREA BETWEEN YOUR OPPONENT’S GOAL LINE AND 20-YARD LINE. ON DEFENSE THE RED ZONE IS THE AREA BETWEEN YOUR GOAL LINE AND THE 20-YARD LINE.

Learning to score in the red zone will lead not only to more points on the scoreboard, but also to overall success in other areas of the field. As you approach the red zone the amount of field you have to operate in shrinks. So most of your favorite plays become ineffective. In the red zone it’s important to attack the field horizontally, or from sideline to sideline, in order to move the ball. Windows become tighter and decisions need to be quicker. Spend most of your time in practice mode finding plays you have success with. You win games by scoring in the red zone.

4 ROUTE TIMING

Practice Mode

TIMING IS ONE OF THE MOST OVERLOOKED FACTORS IN THE PASSING GAME.

When we use practice mode we tend to be repetitive with how we use our time. First, we start by calling any passing play and picking Cover 3 zone. We then make every available hot route to each receiver in succession. The goal here is to learn when to throw the ball against specific defenses. We repeat this against all defensive coverages so that over the course of time we will know when to throw specific routes against any defense we face. This is something that needs to be done for every route in the game. The absolute worst thing you can do is run a route in-game that you have never thrown before. If you do, you’d better be a wrap-up tackler.

3 ADJUSTMENTS

Practice Mode

IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT MAKING ADJUSTMENTS THEN YOU ARE ALREADY BEATEN.

You should never have to think about making adjustments in Madden NFL 25; they should just happen. This means that you should be spending time in practice mode working on all the adjustments you have for every play that you typically call. This causes a chain reaction in your play-call system, which will become automated to the point where the only thing you are thinking about is how you can score more points. Make sure that you never question how to hot route a slant or any other available adjustment option.

2 DEPTH CHART

Practice Mode

THE BEST PLACE TO LEARN YOUR TEAM’S DEPTH CHART IS IN PRACTICE MODE.

What we love about practice mode is that if you spend enough time there you will learn your team’s roster up and down its depth chart. When you play games you rarely play the lower-rated players on your team, and this is a big-time mistake. Often you can find hidden gems on your bench. Scan your team’s depth chart and look for players who are good at specific things. Maybe you have an HB on your bench who has a great Carry rating, or maybe you have an MLB who has an elite Hit Power rating. The more time you spend in practice mode the more you will know about your team’s entire roster.

1 EXPERIMENTS

Practice Mode

TEST. EVERYTHING.

Use practice mode as if it’s your own personal laboratory. Anything and everything goes. Want to see how a kicker will do at QB? Test it. Maybe you want to know if your DT can effectively play lockdown coverage at CB in goal line situations. Whatever you can think up in your head you should try in practice mode. The more things you test the better prepared you will be for game situations. Practice mode is also great for experimenting against conventional wisdom. For example, people might say that speed is the only thing that matters for vertical passing plays. I beg to differ; acceleration is just as important as speed because it allows your receiver the burst he needs to get past the defender. The only way to find out is to test this in practice mode. Test anything and everything.
