Developer: Eat Sleep Play Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment Platform: PS3 Reviewed by: Brendan Kelly Twisted Metal Review I never understood clowns. Had I ever felt the need to observe a red-cheeked, goonish creature making honking noises and falling over, I’d spend more time at my grandparents’ house (whoa, ok, it was a joke, my grandparents […]
For years, now, I’ve been operating under the impression that Zuma is the result of a fever dream. Bear with me: “So, when I was sick, I had this dream. There was this frog, okay? And he was on this tile, and he couldn’t move, and there was this row of multi-coloured beads that were […]
Review: Trader of Stories: Bell’s Heart and Grain of Truth by Toddziak Indie games are just everywhere these days. You can easily grab some brand-new titles on Steam, GOG or directly from the page of a developer of your liking. What’s even better, some of indie gems are totally free to download or play in […]
The Train Giant (otherwise known as A-Train 9) is … wait a second, A-Train NINE? I can remember playing the original A-Train on the Amiga, but until I was given this game to review I had no idea it had run to so many editions. In fact I’ve since learned that ‘original’ A-Train was actually […]
Supersonic Software (an offshoot of Codemasters) has made a career of nimble, top-down racers, and Wrecked: Revenge Revisited falls neatly into that same category. Here we go then, yet another videogame that’s following the well-worn tank tracks of the Iran-Iraq war. Must we have another release that focuses so heavily on such a played-out setting? Oh look, it also has missions based around the Soviet attack on Afghanistan and the Angolan Civil War in the 1980s. Yawn yawn, how […]
I have my doubts about the name Race Injection. It sounds as if the game should either be a Japanese gameshow based around speed-vaccinations, or a horrific plot by white supremacist chemists to further their evil goals. It’s actually neither of those things (I know, I thought they were rich material for videogames too). Instead, […]
Going by a couple of available sources (ok, yes, Wikipedia and Mobygames) Worms: Ultimate Mayhem (Worms:UM), inclusive of numerous re-issues, re-releases and re-packagings, is something like the 22nd or 23rd Worms release in 16 years. While this demonstrates a certain amount of enduring love for the mid-90s series, it also indicates a remarkable dearth of […]
Elevator Action Deluxe has made me scream with rage more than anything since Super Meat Boy. In Super Meat Boy, my screams were tempered somewhat as the annoyance was short-lived, the action fast, and the levels smartly designed. Here, my screams were exacerbated by the knowledge that I would never be able to track down […]
