The Netflix gods (and by that we mean showrunner Lauren Hissrich) graced us earlier this week with an extensive first look at The Witcher cast in the upcoming The Witcher Netflix series. Many fan concerns were laid to rest when we saw how surprisingly well Henry Cavill fit into the role of Geralt of Rivia and our first look at a younger Ciri and Yennefer also was met with a lot of positive feedback. One thing still missing however is an actual trailer, but it looks like we might be getting that during SDCC 2019!
It has been confirmed that The Witcher Netflix series is crashing SDCC 2019 with a panel scheduled in Hall H on Friday, July 19 at 14:15 PT. The panel boasts an exciting roundtable including Henry Cavill, Freya Allan, and Anya Cholatra. Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich will also be at the panel revealing tons more about the highly anticipated new show!
With a tagline of “The Witcher Geralt, a mutated monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts,” it’s hard not to be totally amped for the upcoming 8-episode long series! Fans are even warming up to the idea of Cavill as Geralt himself following numerous photos leaked of him on set and during his grueling training regime when getting in tip-top witcher shape.
The upcoming show stars Man of Steel’s Henry Cavill as the main protagonist himself, alongside Freya Allan as Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, and Anna Shaffer as Triss Merigold. The author of the books himself is also on board with the project, working as the creative consultant for Hissrich’s vision.
