The Witcher Netflix series is at their third location for filming and we’ve had a lot of inside sneak peeks at the latest adaptation of the novels that spawned an amazing RPG video game experience from CD Projekt RED. Though we still don’t have a release date at this time outside of late 2019, we do have interesting news about the grand finale.

Marc Jobst is the director that helmed projects like The Punisher and Daredevil, and he’s definitely got the eye for drama. New information has arisen that suggests that Jobst has been tapped into direct the 8th and final episode of the upcoming series. Thanks to a leaked set clapboard during the team’s filming session at the Orgrodzieniec Castle in Poland, the director’s name was loud and proud. This also means that the finale of the season will take place in the castle itself, which is lending some pretty hefty material for those theorizing about the show’s settings within the novels.

If the leaked set photo isn’t enough to convince you, Jobst himself posted this:

With a tagline of “The Witcher Geralt, a mutated monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts,” we can’t help but to be completely excited for the upcoming 8 episode-long series! Fans are even warming up to the idea of Cavill as Geralt himself following numerous photos leaked of him on set and during his grueling training regime when getting in tip-top witcher shape.

The upcoming show stars Man of Steel’s Henry Cavill as the main protagonist himself, alongside Freya Allan as Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, and Anna Shaffer as Triss Merigold. The author of the books himself is also on board with the project, working as the creative consultant for Hissrich’s vision.

Hopefully as filming in Poland progresses, we’ll be able to get a more cemented debut date for the new series.
