Two New PlayStation DualSense Controller Colors Announced

If you’ve been wanting an all-black DualSense controller, you’re in luck because all-black is one of the two new DualSense colors announced today on the PS Blog. Both new colors – Cosmic Red and Midnight Black – will be available beginning next month.

It’s noted that while the new lineup will be available globally next month, the exact date at which the new DualSense controller colors become available will vary depending on location and supply at your local retailers.

When the new DualSense colors are being described in the PS Blog post, it sounds like the colors both have a sort of “gazing at the night sky” sort of space/cosmos vibe to them.

“Today, we’re thrilled to introduce two new colors that will be joining the DualSense controller lineup starting next month: Midnight Black and Cosmic Red.

Midnight Black features two subtly different shades of black with light grey detailing to reflect how we view space through the night sky, and Cosmic Red offers a striking black and red design inspired by the unique vivid shades of red found throughout the cosmos.”

The blog post then goes into a bit of detail about the DualSense controller itself and its features including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. The two-toned color choice is also mentioned as being a “significant pivot” from the company’s previous controllers.

The blog post ends by announcing that a deep dive into Returnal’s haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support, and insights from other teams working on PS5 titles, will be provided as a way to show how developers are utilizing the DualSense controller’s capabilities.
