Transmog Is Finally Coming to Destiny 2 In The Form of Armor Synthesis

In a Bungie Blog post that had copious details of everything going on with the next season of Destiny 2 and beyond, the dev team shed some light on Transmog.

“In Season 14, Ada-1 is returning to the Tower,  and with her comes the ability for players to take any armor they have in their collections and turn it into a universal ornament. In Destiny 2 we will call this transmog system “Armor Synthesis.”

Every season Ada will offer players a set of bounties that highlight various activity types. Players can complete these quests and receive the materials they need to power up Ada’s Loom, which can turn any piece of armor in your collection into a permanent universal ornament. Players short on time will also be able to purchase Synthesis tokens for Silver.”

After upgrading the Loom, players will then be able to equip their new Universal Ornaments on the character appearance screen, which has been redone to accommodate for this new system.

This will allow you to take the most remarkable pieces of gear from your collection and give your character a whole new look. This was desperately needed in Destiny because now every endgame character will no longer look almost identical to one another.

Bungie will also be giving players a good amount of Synthesis Tokens for simply completing the Season 14 onboarding quest. This will ensure that you’ll be able to at least dust off a few of your old pieces of gear to flaunt around the tower.

Do you have old raid gear you want to bust out? Or maybe a sick piece of blue gear that you only got to wear for 20 minutes before finding something better! Either way, the new armor system was one of the most heavily requested features from fans.
