We don't deserve this.

Sometimes you get a game that sounds like fanfiction. For Sega’s 60th anniversary, they are taking two beloved franchises and making them one. Streets of Kamuracho is a Streets of Rage 2 style beat em up featuring Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima from the Yakuza franchise.

This surprise announcement has fans super excited to check it out. The best part is the game is free! Simply download it from steam starting on October 17. You have to be quick, though, because this game is only available for a limited time. After October 19, this game will be removed from the Steam store.

You can check out a trailer for the game below.

Not a ton of information was given about the game, but we do have the official description.

“The death of the Tojo Clan’s Third Chairman has plunged the organization into chaos. The violence spreads to the streets, and only Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima can put an end to the bloodshed!”

It features local coop so you can beat up the thugs of Kamurocho with a buddy. This is all part of Sega’s 60th anniversary, where they announced in which they will release a new mini-game every day from October 15-18.

This is just one of the fun mini-games Sega will be releasing, so keep your eyes peeled for more and check back every day.

Can you believe we got a Streets of Rage 2 and Yakuza crossover? We still can’t believe it either.

Even if you’ve never played a Yakuza game before, this looks like a hell of a good time. Sure it’s wildly different than anything in the series prior, but it’s worth checking out!

In 2020 we got Streets of Rage 4, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and now a mash-up of these two franchises. Certainly helps make this year a little easier to swallow!
