Things have been pretty quiet for Activision Blizzard’s StarCraft 2, with the company instead focusing on its World of Warcraft: Mists of Panderia expansion and Diablo III. But attention has just turned back to that galactic strategy series, as the team has just announced an official release date for its long-awaited Heart of the Swarm follow-up.
In an update through Battle.net, Blizzard indicated that this new chapter would bring new capabilities – along with improved ones – to the game, along with a new player progression system and several other elements. Those of you who are subscribers to that service can pre-order it now, or you can wait and purchase a physical edition, should you be a sucker for having a box on the shelf. (And who wouldn’t be?)
As far as the release date goes, you can pick up Heart of the Swarm starting March 12, 2013 – a fair release date, though that’s right in the middle of several other big releases like Bioshock Infinite and Crysis 3. This spring is definitely going to be a busy one.
We’ll have a preview soon, so keep checking back with Prima Games!
