Spooky Month Brings New Festival of the Lost to Destiny 2

Bungie announced the new Festival of the Lost in the most metal way possible.

Spooky Month Brings New Festival of the Lost to Destiny 2

A new trailer heralds the impending arrival of the Festival of the Lost in Destiny 2 and the trailer’s music does a phenomenal job hyping up the event.

We’re huge fans of guitar riffs in trailers so kudos to Bungie on this trailer, seriously, it’s badass.

Digging deeper into the details, the Festival of the Lost begins on October 6 and ends on November 3.

Everyone is invited to participate, but Bungie notes that new players will need to meet the following requirements before they can participate:

  • Escape the Cosmodrome to unlock the Tower.
  • Achieve 770 Power.
  • *Characters created before the launch of New Light do not have to achieve 770 Power to receive the Festival of the Lost quest.

As you might expect, you can purchase masks and rewards from Eva Levante in exchange for Chocolate Strange Coins and Candy during the Festival of the Lost.

You can earn these by completing Festival Bounties offered by Eva and by participating in the Haunted Forest activity.

That’s right, the Haunted Forest is back again this year with 750+ Power recommended! Like last year, you’ll have 15 minutes inside the Haunted Forest to defeat terrors and collect Chocolate Strange Coins and Candy.

You can do this with the help of a Fireteam, or you can enter the Haunted Forest solo and go it alone. Elaborating on the solo part, there are two options when it comes to the Haunted Forest.

You can either play the standard version featuring online matchmaking, or a Firewalled version which disables matchmaking and allows players to enter the Haunted Forest solo (or with a Fireteam of their choosing).

In addition to earning Chocolate Strange Coins and Candy, you’ll have the ability to open five optional caches using Cipher Decoders (if you have them) at the end of each Haunted Forest run.

Inside, you may find masks, shaders, and even Legendary Auto Rifles like the Horror Story and Braytech Werewolf.

Wondering what you can spend all of your hard-earned Candy and Chocolate Strange Coins on? Well, Eva has six different masks available for purchase in exchange for Chocolate Strange Coins.

Bungie specified that “all masks must be equipped as ornaments on the Masquerader’s Helmet” which you can purchase from Eva for 100 Glimmer.

Below, we’ve listed all six masks you can purchase from Eva during the Festival of the Lost.

  • Fractured Traveler Mask
  • Variks Mask
  • Exo Stranger Mask
  • Ana Bray Mask
  • Wrapped Traveler Mask
  • Bubbling Mask

In addition to masks, you can add Festival of the Lost armor mods to the Masquerader’s Helmet. You can also acquire Wrapped Rewards which include an Exotic Sparrow, ship, and Ghost.

Last, but certainly not least, there are new Triumphs to earn during the Festival of the Lost.

Bungie shared all of these Triumphs on their website, and players have until the Festival of the Lost concludes on November 3 to complete them.

  • Masked Accomplice: Complete Festival of the Lost 2020 Triumphs.
  • Wrapped and Ready: Acquire the mummy Ghost from Eva.
  • Cache Grab: Open caches in the Haunted Forest with Cipher Decoders.
  • Ride or Die: Acquire the Festival of the Lost Sparrow from Eva.
  • Cache Cow: Open caches in the Haunted Forest with Cipher Decoders.
  • Entombed Horizons: Acquire the Festival of the Lost Ship from Eva.
  • Caches Galore: Open caches in the Haunted Forest with Cipher Decoders.
  • Many Faces: Acquire all Festival of the Lost 2020 masks.
  • [REDACTED]: [REDACTED]

You’ll have the opportunity to get your hands on all of these awesome rewards when the Festival of the Lost in Destiny 2 kicks off on Tuesday, October 6 and ends on Tuesday, November 3 (right in time for the launch of Destiny 2: Beyond Light on November 10).
