With the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X looming on the horizon to kickstart the next generation of gaming, many are wondering when the heck we'll be able to get pre-orders in to secure that exciting new console on day one. While pre-orders aren't quite live yet, Sony did comment on recent rumors that they were supposed to go live earlier this week.

Doritos Pope Geoff Keighley shared a live stream earlier today to reveal more about the PS5 DualSense controller and how it handles. During the stream, PlayStation Worldwide Head of Marketing Eric Lempel mentioned that they aren't quite yet to start the pre-order madness, and he also promised that gamers will have ample notice ahead of time.

“We will let you know when pre-order will happen,” the marketing head mentioned when talking about the recent pre-order rumors.. “We will, you know, it’s not going to happen at a minute’s notice. We’re going to at some point let you know when you can pre-order PlayStation 5, so please don’t feel like you have to go out and line up anywhere until you receive official notice on how that’ll work.”

PlayStation rumors being false? Say it isn't so! Still, the excitement is understandable. From the Unreal Engine 5 demo to a new generation of adventures to enjoy, the next step for gaming looks to be a beautiful one, so the anticipation is more than a little understandable with gamers.
