Sony AI and Polyphony Digital To Announce Breakthrough AI Project On February 9

What could it be?

Gran Turismo 7 launches on March 4, 2022, but it seems that Polyphony Digital has been working on something else as well. On February 9, 2022, Sony and Polyphony Digital will announce a new AI project. We have very little information on the announcement at this time, but there is a very brief teaser trailer for the announcement.

Sony AI and Polyphony Digital To Announce Breakthrough AI Project On February 9

Could this be related to driver Ai in Gran Turismo 7? It seems likely, but we won’t know for certain for a few more days. Racing games are famous for having Drivatars, Ai-controlled racers that usually take the name and shape of your friend’s list, but Polyphony Digital could be reinventing the wheel.

We recently saw a lengthy State of Play For GT7 and it showed off what fans can expect from the upcoming racing game. Everything from the main menu, to new modes like Music Rally. We also got a glimpse into how weather effects and track terrain are simulated. It’s an impressive set of systems driving GT7 and the full release is right around the corner.

What do you think this new breakthrough AI project could be? Be sure to let us know your predictions on the official Prima Games Twitter and Facebook pages.
