Name an 00’s character more iconic than Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas’ Carl Johnson, AKA CJ. I’ll wait. Not only is the 2004 legend now a popular meme, but he’s also appeared in many modern video games – unofficially, of course. Fans cannot get enough of adding him to every new release under the sun, and Portkey Games’ Hogwarts Legacy is no different. Even the late-1800s wizarding world can’t escape GTA’s most popular protagonist.
“All We Had To Do Was Follow The Damn Hogwarts Express, CJ!”
As is typical with almost every video game in the last few years, modders got straight to work on Hogwarts Legacy when it was released on PC on February 10, 2023. While the usual ReShades and FPS fixes were the first to drop, it wasn’t long before fans started adding… other types of mods, shall we say, into the fantasy RPG.

Cue CJ from San Andreas. Because, of course. Mr. C-to-the-Jay has left his Grove Street home and taken a Portkey to the 19th-century United Kingdom, swapping his four-wheel drive for a broomstick. Created by NorskPL on NexusMods, the mod skins the male head models with CJ’s entire body.
Like most other Hogwarts Legacy mods, installing the GTA protag reskin is as simple as dragging and dropping it into your Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks
folder so you can tear up Hogsmeade in style in no time. Hell yeah.
And, as though having Romeo himself in the game wasn’t hilarious enough, NorskPL has also created a mod that replaces your broomstick with Shrek. So you can, quite literally, soar around Hogwarts as CJ riding on Shrek if you wish. Now that’s a sentence I never saw myself writing, like, ever. Video games, man.
