During a recent Reddit AMA, members of the Fortnite development team sat down and answered a variety of questions, like whether ranked play will ever be added to the game. With new battle royale games like Apex Legends offering respawn mechanics, the question of whether Fortnite will ever incorporate a respawn or revive system naturally cropped up during the AMA.
Addressing these inquiries, a producer from Epic Games confirmed that the team has yet to rule out the possibility of respawns in Fortnite.
“We’ve been considering this mechanics for a while and have been exploring it. [We] want to make sure we give it the time it needs and fully understand its impact on the game as a whole. Look for further updates during Season 8.”
Judging by this comment, it’s safe to saw that the idea of respawns in Fortnite is very much on the table. Without any additional info, players should keep an eye out for announcements from Epic Games while enjoying Season 8 of Fortnite!
