PlayStation Vita shooter Resistance: Burning Skies is gaining a multiplayer Survival mode.
This nugget of information comes from the PlayStation Blog, and details the third multiplayer mode for the title.
Survival mode will split the players into two teams: human and Chimera. Human teams will begin with 6 players while Chimera teams start with just 2. As the humans die they’ll become Chimera, all the while ending up with a smaller and smaller team. To win you must be the last human standing.
"We really wanted to offer something that was unique to Resistance, keeping with the franchise's theme around humanity's struggle to survive against overwhelming odds," product manager Phil Lynch says.
"We wanted the game to start relatively simple for the humans and then become increasingly harder over time, much like the way the Chimera invaded Asia, then Europe and then America in a flood.
"Previous Resistance games have had modes similar to this, but Survival is our own special twist to create a new mode that focuses on the balance of power changes."
Sony are offering boosts to level 5 for those who pre-order along with extra character avatars and a lock screen theme for your Vita.
