Resident Evil Village Runs 4K HDR at 60 FPS on Next Gen Consoles

Ray Tracing drops it down to 45 FPS.

First pointed out by Wario64 on Twitter, performance details can be found on the official Resident Evil Village website under Output Resolution and Expected Framerate. In the information that pops up, platforms that Resident Evil Village will be available on are listed along with how the game performs when running 4K, 1080p, or lower.

Resident Evil Village Runs 4K HDR at 60 FPS on Next Gen Consoles

In the image above, you’ll see the performance information for Resident Evil Village as provided by the game’s official website. Unsurprisingly, next gen consoles fare the best with Series X and PS5 offering 4K HDR at 60 FPS (with Ray Tracing off).

If you want Ray Tracing, performance dips down to 4K HDR at 45 FPS. Scrolling down the list, the Xbox Series S is an oddball as it’s running 1440p HDR at 45 FPS with Ray Tracing turned off, and the regular Xbox One and PlayStation 4 fare the worst at 900p and 45 FPS. 

  • Xbox Series X — 4K HDR at 60 FPS
  • Xbox Series X (when Ray Tracing is turned on) — 4K at 45 FPS
  • Xbox One X — 1080p at 60 FPS
  • Xbox One X (when set to high resolution) — 4K HDR at 30 FPS
  • Xbox One — 900p at 30 FPS
  • PlayStation 5 — 4K HDR at 60 FPS
  • PlayStation 5 (when Ray Tracing is turned on) — 4K HDR at 45 FPS
  • PlayStation 4 Pro — 1080p at 60 FPS
  • PlayStation 4 Pro (when set to high resolution) — 4K HDR at 30 FPS 
  • PlayStation 4 — 900p at 45 FPS
  • Google Stadia — 1080p at 60 FPS
  • Google Stadia (4K upscaled using dynamic resolution) — 4K at 60 FPS

PC performance wasn’t included in the list on the Resident Evil Village website, but details can be found on the Steam page for Resident Evil Village. On Steam, the minimum and recommended PC requirements are as follows: 

Resident Evil Village – Minimum PC Requirements 

  • OS: Windows 10 (64 bit)
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 1200 or Intel Core i5-7500
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 560 with 4GB VRAM or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4GB VRAM
  • DirectX: Version 12

Additional Notes: Estimated performance (when set to Prioritize Performance): 1080p/60fps. Framerate might drop in graphics-intensive scenes. AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 required to support Ray Tracing. System requirements subject to change during game development.

And there you have it, the performance of Resident Evil Village on different platforms from next gen consoles like Xbox Series X, previous gen consoles like PS4 Pro, and PC. Resident Evil Village is currently scheduled to release on May 7.

Prior to the game’s launch, Resident Evil Village will have two demos for interested gamers to check out. One of the demos will let you explore the village part of Resident Evil Village, with that demo beginning April 17. The other demo will let you explore the castle, and that begins April 24.
