Red Dead Redemption 2, the highly-anticipated sequel to the Western-themed action adventure Red Dead Redemption, has been delayed once again. This time, however, Rockstar Games has announced a specific release date for the long-awaited prequel. Red Dead Redemption 2 will now be released on October 26, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, just in time for the holiday season.
Rockstar apologized for the delay, explaining that Red Dead Redemption 2 still needs some fine-tuning before it’s ready. “We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay,” said Rockstar Games. “While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.” The developers go on to mention that they will be “sharing a lot more information” in the weeks to come.
Unfortunately, no new trailer or gameplay footage was released alongside the announcement. However, Rockstar offered up a handful of gorgeous new screenshots for fans to enjoy, which can be found on today’s blog post from Rockstar.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was originally announced back in October 2016. Stay tuned for more details on the Western-themed action adventure in the coming weeks.
