One of the bright spots of the Wii U “launch window” games was clearly Rayman Legends, a game that is taking the classic side-scrolling 2D action of games in the series and beefing it up with touch-screen interaction, wacky level design and the same kind of whimsy that made Rayman Origins such a hit last year. But if you think you’re going to be playing it day one when the Wii U comes out, you better have a seat…
Ubisoft has announced that Rayman Legends will ship worldwide, but not until early 2013. Originally scheduled for the “launch window” for the Wii U, it appears that the publisher is taking its time making sure every aspect of the game is polished.
“Rayman Legends will launch worldwide in the first quarter of 2013,” Ubisoft said in a statement. “We’re happy that fans are excited about the game, and we are taking the time to make sure we deliver a game that lives up to and hopefully exceeds their expectations.”
On the bright side, at least we’ll have more time for New Super Mario Bros. U, right?
We’ll have a full preview of Rayman Legends soon, so watch out for it!
