Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Headed to Steam on August 8

An incredible Metroidvania comes to Steam!

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a return to form for the Prince of Persia series, and an excellent metroidvania from Ubisoft Montpellier. The title was released on basically every current and last-generation platform as well as PC. Due to Ubisoft’s exclusive agreement with Epic Games Store, the title wasn’t released on Steam at launch. Thankfully, Steam users won’t have to wait long as Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is coming to the storefront very soon.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Steam Release

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is releasing on Steam on August 8, 2024. This was announced by the official Prince of Persia Twitter/X account.

You can now add the title to your wishlist on Steam at the following link. The Steam release comes with achievements, full controller support, and should run great on the Steam Deck. As is the case with other Ubisoft releases, you will need to use a Ubisoft Connect account to play it on Steam.

The Steam release also comes with free DLC content including Warrior’s Path, Boss Attack, and the Divine Trials. It’s currently only available to wishlist, and players should be able to purchase the standard and deluxe editions at launch. Most Ubisoft releases on Steam launch with a discount so it’s definitely something to keep an eye on.

Ubisoft and Epic Games Store still have an exclusivity deal that prevents day-one launches on Steam. The exclusivity period seems to be shortening though, as both Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora are releasing on Steam, seven months after the initial launch.

In our review, we thought the new entry took the series to new heights, and is an unmissable adventure. If this is your first time playing the game, we recommend checking out our dedicated guides section as well.
