Ever since it came out for Xbox Live Arcade in 2010, Playdead Games’ Limbo has entranced players with its spooky atmosphere and challenging gameplay, where even the slightest misstep could spell your doom.  Now it’s time for another group of players to check the game out.

Playdead confirmed that Limbo will arrive on iOS July 3rd for the affordable price of $4.99.  The game will support higher-end Apple products, including the iPad 2, iPhone 4S and up, and will feature enhanced gameplay “to ensure an amazing touch-based experience,” according to a Playdead rep.

The game has been a thrilling success for Playdead thus far. Between the Xbox Live version, Windows PC, Mac and the recently released PlayStation 3/PS Vita editions, the game has sold over three million units thus far – a mounting success for an independently developed game.  You can bet that number will rise when this title arrives on the App Store next week.
