With the recently announced Major League Baseball 2K13 ready to round the bases next month, 2K Sports is once again gearing up with the slightly controversial – but attention getting – Perfect Game Challenge, where someone could be rewarded with a bunch of dough if they manage to get the first perfect game of the season with the baseball sim.  But this year, there’s a catch – the money won’t just go to one person.

During the month of April – when baseball season officially kicks off – players can compete for a prize pool of $750,000 across 30 MLB Team leaderboards, so no matter who they choose to play as, they stand an equal chance.  From there, the top four players in the overall leaderboard will be invited to New York during the MLB All-Star Week in July, where the top player will win $250,000.

No, one player can’t necessarily win a million bucks, but we like to see more people win anyway.

Major League Baseball 2K13 releases for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on March 5th.  We’ll have a strategic preview soon.
