Over the years, Namco Bandai has made some improvements to its tournament-based Pac-Man Championship Edition, adding new modes and other tweaks to keep players in a competitive mood. However, Steam owners have yet to get the latest chapter in the series – until now, that is.
Namco announced today that it will bring Pac-Man Championship Edition DX+ to the Steam service on September 25th, for the low price of $10. The game will include four new courses, as well as two songs and skin packs that include sprites and sound effects from other Namco classics, including Pac-Man and Rally-X. Elements of Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventure will also be included.
There’s no word yet on when owners of the game on PlayStation Network or Xbox Live Arcade will get this add-on, but it shouldn’t be too far off.
Pac-Man Championship Edition DX is available now for download. Be sure to check it out if you’re looking for a twist on a contemporary classic.
