Joseph Staten worked on the first three Halo games in the franchise and now he’s back for Halo Infinite. The decision to bring him back into the Halo-verse comes following very mixed reactions to Halo Infinite gameplay that was revealed last month and numerous reports that the development of the game is in trouble.
Staten is no stranger to the universe revolving Halo, he helped bring this creation to life with the first three games. He was the creative director and writer for Halo when it was still under the helm of Bungie and while he left the Halo-verse previously, Microsoft has roped him back in to help get Halo Infinite back on track for launch.
Also @Franklez promised me unlimited food-nipple access, so how could I refuse?
All kidding aside, please don’t expect to hear much from me. I’ve got a lot of catching up to do. But I’m honored to have this opportunity and will of course #KeepItClean.

Staten will be joining the Halo Infinite crew as the project lead for the game’s campaign. While much of the game is completed at its base, the mixed reactions of the visual quality had many concerned, especially since this is a flagship series for the Xbox Series X.

Following several delays, even pre-COVID, and numerous reports that the road to launch has been incredibly rocky, bringing Staten in is an incredibly smart move for the team given that 343 promised that this is the title that will correct many of the mistakes made with this franchise post-Bungie acquisition.
It will be interesting to see what sort of changes Staten makes to the internal structure, because the team attached to this game is incredibly powerful and innovative when it comes to their creative vision. We’d love to see that vision come to fruition in a way that they see it and in a way fans can appreciate.
