The Order: 1886 Chapter 16: Brother, Let Us Embrace – Final Boss

All the information needed to defeat Sir Lucan in the final boss fight of The Order: 1886.
This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

The final chapter of the game is all boss fight from start to finish, and it’s something that most players will recognize from the first boss battle against the Lycan Elder. That is to say, it’s a quick time event for the most part, with a little bit of dodging and counter attacking mixed in the middle.

Before we get into the good stuff, players should note that the difficulty level they are playing on does have an impact on how much damage they can take from Sir Lucan. For example, those who play on Easy can take more hits than gamers who opt to try the game on Hard. The exact numbers are noted below.

  • Easy – 8 Hits
  • Medium – 4 Hits
  • Hard – 2 Hits

It’s also worth mentioning that progressing from one stage of the fight to the next will return one hit point to Sir Galahad. This means that if a player on Medium took three hits from the Lycan in the first stage, they would have two when they hit the second stage (4 – 3 + 1 = 2).

As mentioned the fight is broken up into quick time events and a slightly more free-swinging mode. During the quick time events players will need to make sure they are always on their toes, quickly pressing whatever buttons pop onto the screen. Doing this successfully will generally lead to the more free-wheeling parts of the battle.

When players are faced off with the Half-Breed their primary concern should be moving the right stick in the direction indicated on the screen. This will dodge the beast’s attacks and keep those precious hit points from running out. This is also where they can cause the most damage to their opponent, pressing either the L2 for a quick strike, or the R2 for a strong strike. Quite frankly, there is little to no reason to ever use anything but a strong strike. The trick is to time it so that players are pressing the button as Sir Lucan is attacking.

The fight will alternate back and forth between the two scenarios, eventually leading to a cut scene that is mixed with one or two more quick time events. From here players can relax and enjoy the rest of the story, only needing to press R2 to execute their adversary at the very end.

Tip: Be sure to stick around for a bit to see Sir Galahad in one more teasing cut scene.
