The game’s main campaign is purely a single-player experience, creative director Neil Druckmann revealed to Gaming Examiner.
“We are supporting multiplayer with The Last of Us,” said Druckman. “We’re not ready to talk about the details of how multiplayer will be implemented, however we can say that it is not co-op within the main campaign.”
The Last of Us follows the story of young girl Ellie growing up scavenging in an overgrown post-apocalyptic world. Ellie’s also lucky enough to have a buddy looking out for her named Joel, “a ruthless survivor” whom the game also focuses on. It’s coming in 2013…at some point, it looks stunning.
