This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Nike definitely has their head in the game when it comes to sneakers that fit well with the gaming community and their latest line doesn’t disappoint. For those that are fans of the iconic N64, there’s a new way to show off that retro love in a way that’s both functional and stylish.

The Nintendo 64 was hailed for its amazingly advanced 3D graphics that was a first in the gaming market and advanced the gaming experience with its breakthrough 64-bit technology. This system paved the way for gaming’s future, easily trumping that of the PlayStation’s 32-bit experience. Progression, that was the name of the platform game and that’s exactly what the N64 gave us and now Nike is looking to give us a fond way to remember a beloved system.

As seen in the concept above, the familiar sleek grey color scheme pays homage to the system’s controller while featuring vibrant greens, blues, reds, and yellows throughout the shoe itself to represent the colourful logo and the system itself. The shoe itself also features a “designed in 1997” stamp, paying tribute to when the N64 first changed the games market forever.

The newest in gaming shoe apparel is set to arrive sometime this summer both on Nike’s website and at select Swoosh stockists for $160.

Thoughts on the latest shoe to celebrate gaming? Feeling the colour scheme or a bit too on the nose to be stylish? Hit us up with your thoughts over on Twitter @PrimaGames, we’d love to hear what you think!
