Today’s Nintendo Direct program didn’t disappoint. Nintendo elaborated on previously announced titles and also throwing in some new surprises for good measure.
The publisher gave a release date for the team-oriented Mario and Luigi: Dream Team, which will be hitting Europe on July 12th and North America a month later on August 11th.
A new Mario Party was also announced for this Winter. It will feature seven new game boards, as well as 81 mini-games – including some that make use of the awesome AR card system.
Then came news of a new Yoshi’s Island game, a platformer where Yoshi runs around with a Baby Mario on his back. The art emulates the same style as the N64 game Yoshi’s Story, and looks fantastic thus far. No release date yet but it’s coming soon.
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D will have a separate easy mode for those of you having struggles getting through the game. The 3DS port releases next month.
Three new Level-5 games will also be coming for the 3DS, including West: Starship Damprey, Bugs vs. Tanks and Attack of the Friday Monsters: A Tokyo Tale. JRPG favorite Bravely Default: Flying Fairy is coming from Square Enix as well.
Last but definitely not least, a new Zelda game is in the works, taking place in the same universe as Link To the Past. But it’s not a remake: its an all-new game.
We’ll see more of these at E3 in a couple of months, but if you want to see more now you can watch the Nintendo Direct special for yourself at this link. Enjoy!
