Mercy, when she’s not busy going through a billion different changes thanks to the Blizzard team, is one of the most beloved healers in Overwatch. We saw her with a new look in Overwatch 2 during BlizzCon this year, and now we’re getting an even closer look at her internal struggle with a new free short called Valkyrie.

The short lore entry is an enjoyable read, especially for healer mains. It shows off a much deeper side to the healer, one that struggles with memories of the past and where she fits into the world of Overwatch. From her aid efforts in Cairo to the death of her family, Mercy’s struggles are laid bare for the first time in the latest lore look into Blizzard’s hit FPS.

We don’t have an animated short yet for Mercy, but maybe this is a tease of what’s to come, especially with Overwatch 2 on the way!
