New Fortnite Leak Hints At Thanos’ Return Ahead of Avengers: Endgame

When Marvel collided with the world of Epic Games’ Fortnite back in season 4 to celebrate Infinity War’s arrival, players of the battle royale title went ham when it came to claiming the Gauntlet for themselves. Though it’s been a few seasons since then, it looks like the upcoming Avengers: Endgame has inspired the epic return of the Marvel baddie to the realm of PvP, at least if the most recent datamine is accurate.

The “yielded to the Power of Thanos” and the references to “inferno” had one Fortnite dataminer believing that this could mean that Marvel antagonist was making a huge comeback. Since Epic Games and Marvel have previously hosted officially licensed events in the past to celebrate another huge Avengers event, it would make sense that they would be planning something similar for a film that will be marking a huge turning point for the MCU:

There are a few possibilities for this leak. The first being the event as it was returning once more. Another possibility is that a Thanos-focused feature could be added to the game’s Playground mode. With all of the Creative changes going on in-game, it would be easy to include something Avengers-related in time for the film’s debut later this month.

So far Epic Games has not made any official announcement regarding the recent leak, so we’re keeping this firmly in the rumor pile until they offer a confirmation.

As for the game itself, Fortnite is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
