The upcoming Netflix The Witcher series finally has a release date for December and the news comes with a shiny new trailer for book fans to enjoy. Since the upcoming series is fashioned after the books that inspired the game franchise made successful by CD Projekt RED, many of the sneak peeks we’ve had thus far may seem a little unfamiliar to those that never read the original novels.

Now is a new chance to see what’s on the way now that we know the show is set to air on December 20! Tis the season to slay some monsters! Check out the latest trailer below to see what the cast and crew have been brewing up over the past year: 

With a tagline of “The Witcher Geralt, a mutated monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts,” it’s hard not to be totally amped for the upcoming 8-episode long series! 

The upcoming show stars Man of Steel’s Henry Cavill as the main protagonist himself, alongside Freya Allan as Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, and Anna Shaffer as Triss Merigold. The author of the books himself is also on board with the project, working as the creative consultant for Hissrich’s vision.
