The below Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath gameplay footage shows off how the new characters interact with each other and how they’ve been updated to fit into the combat stylings of Mortal Kombat 11. While the game is adding Friendships, there ain’t nothing friendly about the latest gameplay:

For the DLC itself, Mortal Kombat 1 Aftermath will take players right back to the ending of the base game’s story after Lui Kang successfully thwarted Kronika’s attempts to permanently change time. Accompanied by Raiden, their ritual was interrupted when Shang Tsung crashed the party with Nightwolf and Fujin in an effort to warn them against setting things “right.” According to NetherRealm, “Shang Tsung explains that they were Kronika’s prisoners, released only upon her death, and they’ve come to stop Liu Kang from making a deadly mistake. During Liu Kang’s final battle with Kronika, he destroyed her Crown. If he tries to restart history without it, both the Hourglass and reality will be destroyed. All realms will be lost.”

With returning stages such as the Dead Pool, and the hilarious heralding of Friendships, Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath is coming at the perfect times to liven up the battlefield a bit. Also, Robocop – enough said! As for when the expansion arrives, Aftermath is slated for a May 26th release. For those that preorder on PS4, there’s a swanky free dynamic theme featuring Raiden and Liu Kang up for grabs as well!
