Microsoft’s new tablet device, Surface, which runs on Windows RT, has been given an October 26th release date, coinciding with the launch of Windows 8.
We had previously been told this was the case but Microsoft has been keeping mum in regards to the date recently. These things often change.
“The next version of our operating system, Windows 8, will be generally available on October 26, 2012. At that time, we will begin selling the Surface, a series of Microsoft-designed and manufactured hardware devices,” Microsoft stated in an SEC filing reported by CNET.
There’s a pro version of the Surface coming around 90 days later.
