Ahhh, Walking Dead, how you never fail to amaze us.  The AMC series is running in full swing for season three right now, through the legendary Prison that many comic book readers consider one of the highlights of Robert Kirkman’s comic book series.

But Activision is following suit with a game set to debut next year, focusing on two primal characters from the show – the awesome Daryl Dixon and his troublesome brother Merle.  Today, Activision announced that they have signed on the actors from the TV show to fulfill their characters in the game.  Norman Reedus will portray Daryl, while Michael Rooker, fresh from his starring stint in Call of Duty: Black Ops II, will play Merle.

The Walking Dead from Activision takes a more action-based approach than Telltale Games’ awesome WD series, and Terminal Reality (Star Wars Kinect, Ghostbusters) is handling development like a pro.  We’ll have a preview for you in the weeks ahead as more and more of the game is unveiled.

The Walking Dead hits stores sometime in 2013.  In the meantime, watch the show on Sunday nights on AMC.  You’ll thank us later.
