Marvel Rivals just announced its closed beta date for the PS5, which is set for July 2024. The superhero team-based PvP shooter is a fast-paced, free-to-play 6v6 game, quite similar to the iconic Overwatch, but with cult-classic Marvel superheroes and villains.
They have revealed several superheroes in the past, but with Sony’s State of Play livestream, which showed the Marvel Rivals closed beta trailer for the PS5, they have revealed two new iconic characters: Venom and Adam Warlock.
Apart from adding two new characters, they also unveiled the TOKYO 2099: Spider-Islands map, which features some intense, fast-paced battles with all your favorite superheroes and supervillains. They even showcased Storm destroying a few structures with her ultimate ability.

Things are continuing to cook up. Prior to Adam Warlock and Venom being added, they already had 18 characters, featuring all the most iconic Marvel characters, such as Iron Man, Spider-Man, Hulk, and Black Panther. They also have iconic X-Men characters, such as Storm and Magneto.
It’d be interesting to see who they can add next to the game. With Deadpool & Wolverine just around the corner, which is also coincidentally in the same month as the PS5 Closed Beta, you know my picks on who they should add next!
