Fans of Magic: The Gathering will definitely be frothing here with the reveal of Magic: The Gathering Theros Beyond Death at tonight’s The Game Awards. We’re talking a showdown between two near-mortal enemies, Elspeth and Ashiok, locked in a conflict that smacks of Ancient Greek tragedy. We’re talking gods, monsters, and even more here in line with the Theros set. It looks like we have tons of new cards to look forward to, along with what should be more knowledge about two planeswalkers that haven’t had a whole lot of their motivations explained yet

Judging from the footage above and the trailer, it looks like MTG Arena is going to be courting Theros Beyond Death first, with some cards available now for players to make use of. There’s just something incredibly compelling about the Underworld setting that we’re going to get to explore in Theros, and if the success of Thrones of Eldraine is anything to go by, we can expect that Wizards are going to do a great job with this material too. While it wasn’t the only Magic property that was announced tonight, and Legends looks pretty cool on its own, you can now preorder Magic: The Gathering Theros Beyond Death from Wizards here and also hop into MTG Arena for a limited-time event that will have the Black Lotus card also playable online for the first time.
