While many have already played portions of The Long Dark on Steam and Xbox One, PlayStation 4 owners won’t be left out of the fun. The 1.0 version of The Long Dark will be coming to the PlayStation 4 as well. When the game launches on all three platforms there will be a lot to uncover, even for players who participated in the early access program.

“Our handling of Story Mode development has been entirely based on wanting to preserve the mystery for our players, and trying to show that at launch, they are essentially getting a whole new experience. As such, there is still much to discover in Wintermute. There are game mechanics and parts of the world — some hinted at in the new Teaser — that we have yet to share. We’ll have lots more to say — and show — about those things in the months leading up to launch,” stated Raphael van Lierop, Founder and Creative Director, Hinterland Studio Inc.

The two episodes that will be available on August 1 represent approximately 6-10 hours of single-player story mode content. As the remaining episodes role out, players will start to fully understand the story of The Long Dark.
