LEGO The Lord of the Rings is out November 13 in North America, with a European release date of November 23.
Traveller’s Tales has been responsible for making some of the best games that parents and kids can play together with their wonderfully funny and rather tongue-in-cheek take on LEGO. This time round they’ve taken on the deep and rich lore that is Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings.
The game, which covers the entire The Lord of the Rings trilogy, boasts a map of Middle-earth, which lets players to visit areas they’ve already been to in order to complete side-quests. There’s a massive cast, crafting (wow) and a brand new backpack system that lets you take special power-granting items around.
Dialogue from the Peter Jackson movies has been used in the game, a first for the LEGO titles.
The game’s coming to Xbox 360, PS3, 3DS, DS, PS Vita and PC. No word of a Wii U version just yet but seems as Traveller’s Tales is making the excellent-looking LEGO City Undercover as a Wii U exclusive, and the company’s rather consistent history of releasing LEGO games on just about everything, it’s likely it’ll come later.
