The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Announced During Nintendo Direct

It's a game.

Skyward Sword HD has been announced for the Nintendo Switch during today’s Nintendo Direct. Coming out on July 16, this Zelda game was initially released back on the Wii and used pretty terrible motion controls. The Switch version is $60.

Luckily, this version allows players to use a button-only control scheme. This uses the right joystick to swing Link’s sword in the direction the players push it. Push the stick up to swing up, etc.

You can watch the full trailer from the Nintendo Direct below.

This trailer also showcases the brand-new Zelda-themed Joy-cons that are exquisite. A deep blue with gold trim.

It wasn’t the Zelda announcement we were hoping for, but at least it’s something in the meantime. More information on Breath of the Wild 2 is planned for later this year.

With the 35 anniversary of The Legend of Zelda this year, we’re still expecting more Zelda announcements this year.

Will there be more? Who knows, but we hope so.
