Naughty Dog has been awfully quite about the highly anticipated The Last of Us Part II since their Outbreak Day celebration last year, but that hasn’t stopped the rumors from swirling about when the sequel will be making its debut. With several leaks and rumors hinting at a release date for thet first half of 2019, it looks like the PS4 Games List might have given us a huge hint that it will be coming sooner than we initially thought.
In the “Coming Soon” section in the PlayStation Store, The Last of Us Part II has been recently added. Since we haven’t had any official confirmation other than “2019,” the addition was quickly noticed and bodes well for a potential announcement in the coming month.
Whether it will be an April release or not remains to be seen, though highly unlikely. Previous leaks have had the release slated for October, which make more sense for the AAA title, but the “Coming Soon” spot really shakes up the possibilities. Though not inline with previous rumors and leaks, a Spring / Summer release ahead of E3 would be incredible for many — especially since other “Coming Soon” additions include Mortal Kombat 11, Days Gone, and other releases coming in April, May, and June.
For now, it’s all just speculation, though hopefully Sony will have more to reveal soon about the PlayStation 4 exclusive.
For more about the game according to the game’s official synopsis, “Ellie is now 19 and has found a semblance of peace and normality living in Jackson. She’s had a chance to be a teenager and forge lasting relationships. When that peace is disrupted by a violent act, Ellie is thrust into a brutal journey of retribution, fueled by a need to bring those that have wronged her to justice, pushing her to her very limits.”
