Jamie Lee Curtis Will Play Dr. Patricia Tannis In Borderlands Movie

The cast list for the Borderlands movie is packed with recognizable names like Kevin Hart and Cate Blanchett. Now, it adds another name to the list, Halloween star Jamie Lee Curtis. According to information shared by The Hollywood Reporter, Jamie Lee Curties has been tapped to play Dr. Patricia Tannis.

Whether you’re a Borderlands fan or not, you have to admit that the film adaptation’s cast list is interesting to say the least. One of the first pieces of cast member information shared was in regards to Kevin Hart who’ll play Roland. Following this announcement was another one about how actress Cate Blanchett would play Lilith.

Now, we have even more exciting news as it’s been confirmed that Jamie Lee Curtis will play Dr. Patricia Tannis in the film. For those who’ve never sunk their teeth into the Borderlands series, Dr. Patricia Tannis is an NPC who was formerly employed by Dahl to search for a Vault on Pandora. 

Tannis can be described as an intelligent, eccentric loner who shuns social interaction and seems closer in friendship to technology like her ECHO Recorder than other people. It’ll be interesting to see how Jamie Lee Curtis portrays this character, and the extent of the interactions she’ll have with other characters in the film like Roland and Lilith.

We’re also hoping Jamie Lee Curtis is in the film as more than just a cameo, and that she’s given plenty of lines and material to work with as Tannis. If you’re going to include Tannis, it needs to be done right. With that being said, we imagine the script for the Borderlands movie will be fairly solid as Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin is writing it.

Meanwhile, the movie is being directed by Eli Roth with Randy Pitchford serving as executive producer and Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive. It’s clear that a lot of money, time, and effort is being put into this film adaptation of Borderlands and the more we hear about it, the more eager we are to see the final product once filming has been completed.
