On social media, the development team working on a modern Perfect Dark game, The Initiative, announced a partnership with none other than Crystal Dynamics.

It’s unclear just how much of a hand Crystal Dynamics will have in aiding The Initiative in the development of Perfect Dark, but either way the news is exciting and we can’t wait to see more of Perfect Dark in the future!

The Initiative Announces Partnership With Crystal Dynamics on Perfect Dark

On social media, The Initiative shared the exciting news that they’re partnering with Crystal Dynamics on the development of Perfect Dark

“Perfect Dark update! We are partnering with Crystal Dynamics, the world class team behind character-driven games such as Tomb Raider, to bring this first-person spy thriller to a new generation.

The teams couldn’t pass up a chance to work together. We’re still early in development, but incredibly excited to use this unique opportunity to deliver on the  vision for Perfect Dark!”

In response to this tweet, Crystal Dynamics responded saying:

"We couldn’t be more excited to join forces with @TheInitiative to bring Perfect Dark to a new generation of gamers! We thrive on reimagining epic heroes and can’t wait to realize this first-person spy thriller together.”

Crystal Dynamics went on to add:

”We’re thrilled to add Perfect Dark to our development efforts alongside Marvel’s Avengers and Tomb Raider.”

The collaboration, as exciting as it is, is one that also makes sense. As reported by outlets like Eurogamer, The Initiative was founded by former Studio Head at Crystal Dynamics, Darrell Gallagher.

As such, it’s not surprising that the two studios have connections with one another, and are now working together on Perfect Dark. As for what we know about this Perfect Dark game so far, we know it’ll be available on Xbox Series X|S at release and will also be available on Game Pass at launch.

Plus, we know today that both The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics will be working on the game. Other than that, the rest remains a mystery that’ll slowly unravel as time passes and work on the game continues.

While we wait to hear more about Perfect Dark from The Initiative and now also Crystal Dynamics, we’re curious to hear your thoughts on the announcement. Are you excited that The Initiative will be working with Crystal Dynamics on Perfect Dark?
