We haven’t seen too many examples of free-to-play games on video game consoles as of yet, but judging by the success of Toylogic’s Happy Wars, it might just become a growing business practice.

Today, the developer behind the Xbox 360 free-to-play game, which features a cartoon-style design and plenty of multiplayer potential, announced that the game has racked up over two million players, a huge feat considering it launched just late last year.

The general game is free-to-play, but, obviously, as the business model is set, players can buy upgrades and other items to help improve their teams.  In fact, Toylogic is already hard at work adding extra content to the game, which has not yet been disclosed but should be appearing shortly.

Congrats to the developer on completing the task, and here’s to two million more joining the party sometime down the road.  We need someone fresh to thrash anyway.  Feel the might of our pint-sized party!

Happy Wars is available for download now on Xbox Live Arcade.  You can download the game at this link.
