Fortnitemares 2020 Gives Players a Chance to Earn a Nitemare Royale

Fortnitemares is back, bringing with it a wealth of new activities for players to enjoy in Fortnite. The Fortnitemares 2020: Midas’ Revenge event kicked off yesterday, October 21, and is scheduled to run on November 3. In that time, you can earn yourself some spooky rewards like Midas’ Shadow Wrap!

Fortnitemares 2020 Gives Players a Chance to Earn a Nitemare Royale

It wouldn’t be October without the annual Fortnitemares event in Fortnite. This year, Fortnitemares is themed around Shadow Midas and gives you the opportunity to become a Shadow yourself. Specifically, if you’re eliminated in Solo, Duos, or Squads, you can return as a Shadow and potentially earn a Nitemare Royale.

You can do this by possessing vehicles and using your otherworldly abilities to grief survivors with things like the Pumpkin Rocket Launcher and Fiend Hunter Crossbow. You can even ride on a Witch Broom! Of course, if you aren’t eliminated you can continue to pursue the coveted Victory Royale like normal (the Nitemare Royale sounds cooler if we’re being honest).

“From October 21 until November 3, rise to the occasion in the return of Fortnitemares. In Fortnitemares 2020: Midas’ Revenge, don’t let the tomb hold you back from haunting the living. And while you’re at it, why not liven up your afterlife a little? Vanquish Challenges, hang out at a party, tour the Ghoulish Isles, or try some crafty cosplay IRL. Shadow Midas and his reawakened Henchmen have reclaimed what was once The Agency. During Fortnitemares, you’ll follow in their phantom footsteps and haunt your adversaries on the Island,” the Fortnite blog post explains

If you enjoy Challenges, the Fortnitemares event will have plenty for you to complete. By working your way through all of these Challenges, you’ll be able to earn rewards like Midas’ Shadow Wrap, the Smash O’-Lantern Pickaxe, and Bobo Back Bling. Of course, if you’d rather just buy yourself something new to wear, the Item Shop has a new Party Trooper Outfit decked out in stylish neon that you can buy for 1,200 V-Bucks.

Low on V-Bucks? You can earn yourself some free goodies by attending the Afterlife Party in-game event at Party Royale featuring J Balvin.

“Reggaeton Global ambassador superstar and four-time Latin GRAMMYⓇ winner J Balvin comes to Party Royale with the Afterlife Party, a special performance of Latin culture and hip-hop including the debut of his brand new song ft. Sech! The party begins at the Main Stage in Party Royale on October 31 at 9 p.m. (ET) and 6 p.m. (PT),” the main blog post explains, while encouraging players to check out the separate Afterlife Party blog post

“As a memento of your J Balvin netherworld journey, all Party Trooper owners who attend any of the Afterlife Party showings in Fortnite will unlock the exclusive J Balvin style. Neon and Balvin flair combine in this special variant.”

You can also earn the Wrath’s Wrath Wrap by finding numbers and piecing together a 20-digit mystery code in Fortnite Creative which features four Fortnitemares-inspired islands that may or may not be haunted. If you’re able to get this 20-digit code and enter it in at you’ll be able to earn the Wrath’s Wrath Wrap. The redemption code expires October 27 at 10 a.m. (ET) so don’t forget to search for hidden code digits in each of the four Fortnitemares-inspired islands in Fortnite Creative before that date!
