Fortnite Jetpack Update

After Epic delayed the release of Jetpacks in Fortnite several months ago, fans have been eagerly awaiting their arrival, and it looks like the wait is over. Not to be confused with cosmetic Back Bling items, Jetpacks are an entirely new type of gear that can be found throughout the map in Fortnite. Epic has even created a new “backpack” gear category for Jetpacks, which may imply that other backpack-type items could be on their way in the future.

While Jetpacks seem to be fun to use, they also can lead to a quick death if you’re not careful. Players have been promptly falling to their demise by not paying attention to the charge meter on the Jetpack itself. Jetpacks need a bit of time to recharge, so keep an eye on the bar on the back of the Jetpack to manage its energy level. Jetpacks may not be around for long, so be sure to get your hands on them while you can.

Solid Gold v2 LTM

The Solid Gold limited-time mode is back, with a few adjustments from its original version. In this LTM, all drops and chests include Legendary gold weapons. Solid Gold also has increased stone and metal resource drops from farming, to allow for stronger player-built structures to withstand the Legendary quality weapons. Chug jugs, Slurp juice, Shields, Launch Pads, and Campfires have increased drop rates, while Grenades, Spike Traps, and Bandages have been decreased.

Close Encounters LTM (May 25)

Another LTM is on its way this week called Close Encounters, where players can really put Jetpacks to good use. As the name implies, this game mode features close-quarters combat only, with Shotguns and Jetpacks as the main loot drops. The storm shrinks more quickly once mid- to late-game hits, with a typical match lasting about 15 minutes.

Save the World doesn’t get any major updates this week, besides an extension for Flux in the Weekly Store. However, a new archaeology-themed Outlander Hero named Archaeolo-Jess will be available in the Event Store starting tomorrow, May 23.
