Epic Games introduced Thanos into the world of Battle Royale to celebrate the arrival of Avengers: Infinity War. Now it looks like they’re getting back into the Marvel spirit, because the studio has just officially teased a new kind of event happening this week in Fortnite.
Whatever it takes.

Details of the event are mum at this time, though the above teaser does give us a look at Captain America’s shield in-game alongside a date set for April 25th. Though it’s nice to see some form of official confirmation, the news of the Avengers once more taking on battle royale isn’t a total surprise. Earlier this month we had an extensive leak datamined from the game’s files that showed that Thanos would be indeed returning, though it looks like Epic Games is ready to expand upon the first event to be more than just Thanos himself.
From the looks of it – though we could be wrong – it’s possible we could actually be getting Marvel-inspired gear this time around. Captain Marvel back bling, anyone?
Though the first event had a rocky start with a few needed balance changes, the overall reactions to the previous Thanos event were overall positive. It will be interesting to see how this event differs from the first one and how much more of the Marvel-verse Epic Games is willing to implement into the online title itself.
The battle kicks off on April 25th – this week – for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
