Playing a JRPG like Final Fantasy is often a time-consuming task that requires dedication and patience. There are plenty of players who would love to sink their teeth into the world of Final Fantasy XV, but who simply don’t have enough time to do so. Square Enix aims to fix all that with the release of Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition, a mobile-friendly version of Final Fantasy XV that is available now on iOS and Android devices.
Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition is an episodic adventure that’s optimized for mobile devices. Like its 2016 console counterpart, Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition retells the story of Noctis, the crown prince of Lucis, and his three brothers-in-arms, Prompto, Ignis, and Gladiolus. The game has an adorable, cartoony visual aesthetic and features casual touch controls designed for mobile gaming.
The narrative of Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition spans across ten episodes total, with the first episode available now for free. The remaining nine episodes (episodes 2-10) can be purchased individually (from $0.99 to $3.99) or as a bundle for $19.99.
Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition will work on an iPhone or iPad running on iOS 11.1 or later, an Android device running on Android 5.0 or later, as well as Amazon Fire HD 10. Note that some Android devices are not supported, despite running the required Android OS version. Square Enix also plans to release Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition for Windows 10 devices in 2018.
