Dragon’s Dogma 2 Just Got Easier to Run on PC Ahead of Dark Arisen
The update we've been waiting for!
CAPCOM hasn’t abandoned Dragon’s Dogma 2 after its unfortunate technical state at launch. The game has received several patches to improve performance, but today’s major update ahead of the Dark Arisen expansion takes it a step further.
The improvements are significant enough that CAPCOM has now lowered the game’s PC system requirements.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 Title Update 3.2 Includes Major Optimizations
While Title Update 3.2 largely prepares the main game for Dark Arisen, it also introduces nearly 200 changes, adjustments, and fixes to make the base game experience far better. The update also brings significant optimization improvements for the PC version, with players reporting framerate gains of anywhere from 40% to 60% at the same settings, prompting CAPCOM to lower the game’s system requirements.
Today’s update also removes Denuvo DRM from Dragon’s Dogma 2. We can’t know for sure if that actually added to performance gains, but it’s still a notable change because DRM is always controversial. With the game also coming to Nintendo Switch 2, some of the optimization work required for the new version may have contributed to performance improvements across platforms.

On PC, the update adds several new graphics settings to the Options menu, including Volumetric Fog Resolution, Cloudscape Resolution, Foliage Density, Terrain Quality, Ray Tracing GI Quality, Ray Tracing GI Shading Quality, Effect Reflections, CPU Saving Mode, NPC Culling, and Swaying Grass Quality. Graphics Memory will also now be displayed in the Graphics section of the Options menu.
